History of the Department
The Department of Chemistry was established in 1952. In different years, Heads of the Department were Associate Professors Reva F.K., (1952-1955), Stashko N.M. (1955-1965), Krainer Z.Ya. (1965-1975). In 1976 the Department was divided into the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, led by Associate Professors Kuratov T.S. (1976-1984) and Tsarova N.V. (1984-1987), and the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry, led by Professor Yavonenko O. F. (1976-1982) and Associate Professor Hryshchuk B. D. (1983-1987).
In 1987, the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry were reunited into the Department of Chemistry, headed by Hryshchuk B.D., Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor.
Since September 1, 2013, the Department of Chemistry has been renamed to the Department of Chemistry and Methods of Its Teaching.
Since September 2018, the Head of the Department has been Baranovskyi V.S., PhD in Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor.
