Biography

He was born on July 17, 1974, in the village of Nyzhchi Lubyanky, Zbarazh District, Ternopil Region, to working-class parents. In 1991, graduated from Ternopil Secondary School No. 22. From 1991 to 1996, studied at Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute, specializing in «Labor Training and Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship». 
He was appointed by the Ternopil District Department of Education as a labor training teacher at V. Berezovytska Secondary School in Ternopil Region (work period: September 1, 1996 – February 21, 2005). 

From September 2005 to February 2006, research fellow on state-funded project No. 95-B at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.
He was appointed an assistant at the Department of Labor Education at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University in 2005.

On March 13, 2009, he defended his Ph.D. dissertation on “Constructive-Technological Tasks as a Means of Intellectual Development of Students in Grades 5–7 in Labor Education Lessons” at the specialized academic council K 79.053.02 at Chernihiv T. H. Shevchenko State Pedagogical University.

He was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Technological Education in 2012.

From 2011 to 2017, he served as the Deputy Dean of the Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.

He has held the position of Head of the Department of Computer Technologies and serves as the Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University since June 1, 2017.

In December 2017, he defended his Doctoral thesis titled «System for Developing the Basics of Professionalism in Future Technology Teachers during Professional Training» for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 13.00.04 – Theory and Methods of Professional Education.
On March 5, 2019, based on the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ihor Gevro received the academic title of Professor of the Department of Computer Technologies.

Internships

An active member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Scientific and Practical Workers in Technological Education (Certificate No. 265, issued on April 14, 2014), and a member of the Ternopil Educators' Union since 2015.

In 2016, he participated in an international internship program organized by the Michal Baludansky Academic Society (Slovakia) on “The Role of Higher Education Teachers in Training Professional Graduates: Professionalism and Adaptation to Modern Challenges”.

In 2018, he took part in the project “Innovative University and Leadership project. Phase IV: Communication Strategies and University-School Relationships". supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and under the honorary patronage of the Polish Rectors Foundation – Institute of Knowledge Society (including Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University, the Artes Liberales Foundation, International Foundation for Educational Policy Research, and the Union of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine).

Direction of the scientific research:

“Professional Training of Engineering-Pedagogical Specialists through Modern Information Technology”.

Duties of the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work:

1. Is responsible to the Rector for organizing innovative and career-oriented image activities of the university, and initiating the development of new educational programs in accordance with labor market needs in professions and specialties.
2. Organizes annual scientific and analytical monitoring of the labor market in the region and Ukraine for specialties relevant to Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.
3. Oversees the implementation of orders from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Rector, and decisions of the university's academic council regarding scientific and pedagogical work and licensing and accreditation issues.
4. Coordinates the university’s advertising work in the media, regional exhibitions, and reference materials.
5. Organizes the preparation of Admission Rules to the university and proposals for state orders for all forms of education.
6. Manages the development and implementation of the “Applicant” informational program and other career-related informational resources.
7. Organizes interaction between the university and city and regional education and science departments, general educational institutions, and colleges for career orientation and student recruitment for the university’s educational programs, applying dual education forms and conducting pedagogical practices.
8. Studies opportunities and ensures the university's participation in educational and career-oriented exhibitions.
9. Coordinates the activities of university departments providing paid scientific and pedagogical services.
10. Ensures compliance with the university’s anti-corruption policy and anti-corruption legislation requirements in subordinate structural units.
11. Organizes the preparation of educational-methodical and informational-analytical materials summarizing the year.
12. Oversees the selection and placement of staff in directly subordinate units.
13. Coordinates and monitors the work of the preparatory department and postgraduate education, the project-analytical department, and the admissions committee.
14. Signs documents on behalf of the Rector or in the event of their absence.
