The project aims to mitigate mental health consequences that the full-scale war exposed Ukrainian university students and staff to, increasing the trauma awareness, developing expertise in providing institutional psychological help, and encouraging psychological resilience and mindfulness among Ukrainian HEIs (including 3 temporarily relocated universities).

Mitigation of climate change through advanced phytotechnology for military lands

Grant amount: 350,000.00 €
The project utilizes innovative, advanced Miscanthus phytotechnology at the military sites in Ukraine (former and appeared after February 24, 2022) for transformation into productive economic use through decontamination and revitalization.

Bilateral Ukrainian-Lithuanian research project

Assessment of risks to aquatic biota due to environmental pollution by rare earth elements caused by modern (including military) technologies

Project duration: 01.04.2024 – 31.12.2025
Grant amount: 398,000.00 UAH
The aim is generating new scientific knowledge on the anthropogenic impact of rare earth elements (REEs) released as a result of the use of modern technologies and assessing their risks to aquatic biota. The focus will be on the toxic effects and bioaccumulation of REEs, which are mainly used in military equipment. Laboratory research on the toxicity and bioaccumulation of REEs will be aimed at developing innovative biomarkers for detecting REE toxicity in aquatic environments.
