The Veteran Development Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) is a structural unit of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.

Purpose
The Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive social and rehabilitation support, along with legal and professional guidance, for war veterans, their families, families of deceased veterans, and Ukrainian Defenders. This is achieved through the development of training systems, retraining, and professional development programs, helping them transition and integrate into civilian life.

Key Objectives
  • Facilitating social, psychological, and legal adaptation for war veterans, their families, families of fallen veterans, and Ukraine's Defenders, along with providing professional retraining in civilian specialties that are in demand in the Ukrainian labor market.
  • Conducting career guidance for war veterans, their families, and families of fallen Defenders to encourage participation in academic, professional retraining, and skill enhancement programs at the University, aimed at professional reintegration, increasing competitiveness in the labor market, and aiding the social adaptation of military personnel and veterans.
  • Supporting Ukrainian Armed Forces veterans in acquiring civilian qualifications through formal educational levels and short-term programs for professional preparation and retraining.
  • Coordinating, providing methodological support, and implementing programs designed to facilitate social adaptation and promote the employment of military personnel, veterans, and their families, including those of fallen veterans.
  • Offering legal advisory services to veterans, their families, and families of fallen Defenders.
  • Providing individual psychological counseling to veterans and their families, addressing their specific needs.
  • Organizing and conducting conferences, roundtable discussions, strategic sessions, social-psychological trainings, seminars, webinars, and workshops tailored to the needs of military personnel, veterans, and their families, aligned with market and business demands, while offering psychological support and guidance.
  • Conducting promotional and informational campaigns to foster collaboration with businesses, enterprises, institutions, and organizations.
  • Hosting employer forums and job fairs to create employment opportunities for veterans.
  • Providing mentoring support to veterans and their families in drafting business projects.
  • Ensuring collaboration with central and local executive authorities, local government bodies, civic organizations, and public associations involved in veteran support programs.
  • Identifying and addressing the needs and challenges faced by veterans and their families, providing consultations to resolve such issues.
  • Conducting career guidance for active military personnel to encourage enrollment in civilian specialty programs at the University.
  • Leveraging the experience of war veterans in preparing Ukrainian citizens for national defense.
  • Engaging veterans in specialized training courses, retraining, and professional development programs, including seminars, trainings, and consultations conducted at the University or other educational institutions, organizations, or facilities.
