The Information and Computing Center was established in December 1999. It currently employs 11 staff members who ensure the application of modern information technologies in the educational process and maintain computer equipment for Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University (TNPU) employees. For student use, 40 computer labs have been set up where classes are conducted using modern computer technologies. To enhance the educational process, three multimedia classrooms have been organized. As of January 1, 2013, the university has 1,569 computers.

In early 2001, the TNPU website was launched at http://www.tnpu.edu.ua, hosted on the university's server. Today, the website provides information about the university's structure, educational and scientific work, as well as housing electronic resources, a photo gallery, and information for prospective students regarding admissions.

In 2003, an Internet Resources Room was established for postgraduate students and faculty members. In 2005, the Computer Testing Center was opened, initially for entrance exams and later for semester and state exams. That same year, a new computer lab equipped with 30 PCs for student use was opened.

Over its years of operation, the staff of the Computing Center has organized and maintained the university’s local area network, connecting TNPU's administrative buildings (main building on Maksym Kryvonosa Street, 2; buildings 2, 3, 4 on Vynnychenko Street, 10; and building 8 on Hromnytskoho Street, 1a) and dormitories. The computers and servers operate exclusively on licensed software from MicroSoft, AVP, 1C 7.0, and 1C 8.0 and have conformity certificates from UKRSEPRO. The local network is connected to the global INTERNET network. Since 2010, wireless Wi-Fi access has been organized at the university, allowing students to work online using portable computers with free INTERNET access. Test access to TNPU’s electronic resources has also been organized within the student campus.

To improve communication and the operational efficiency of TNPU`s structural units, a server-network information management system based on the "Accounting" software package has been organized since 1999 and optimized in recent years.
